John has been a member of the BWAA since the mid-50’s and is a past president of the BWAA.  He has served on the Board of Directors, chaired and served as a committee member, and has won every BWAA award possible. 

Jowdy’s columns appear in 17 local bowling publications.  He does not charge for these columns.  He wrote instructional columns for Bowling Digest for 10 years before they discontinued publication.  He has written columns for Bowling This Month magazine for over 10 years and has written two books Bowling Execution and Bowling Execution, Second Edition. 

 Jowdy is a member of the USBC Hall of Fame, PBA Hall of Fame, Texas Bowling Hall of Fame, the San Antonio Bowling Hall of Fame, the Bowling Writers Hall of Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010.
