BWAA administers several of bowling's most prestigious and important annual awards programs, including:
- Male and Female Bowlers of the Year
BWAA members have selected a Male Bowler of the Year since 1942 and a Female Bowler of the Year since 1948.
- Amateur Bowlers of the Year
A special BWAA committee has selected the nation's best non-professional Male and Female Bowlers of the Year since 1991.
- Collegiate Bowlers of the Year
A special BWAA committee has selected Male and Female Collegiate Bowlers of the Year since 1991.
- High School Bowlers of the Year
This is a new award administered by BWAA. A special committee will be appointed to select Male and Female High School Bowlers of the Year beginning with 2007.
- Senior Bowlers of the Year
A special BWAA committee has selected a Senior Male Bowler of the Year since 1993 and a Senior Female Bowler of the Year since 2001.
- BWAA Meritorious Service Award
This award is presented to an individual or organization for outstanding long-term accomplishments in and for the sport of bowling. This award encompasses the BWAA’s Martino and the NWBW’s Jo Ettien Lieber Award.
- BWAA Hall of Fame Award
The BWAA membership annually recognizes one of its own for his or her distinguished service to bowling journalism. The recipient is granted membership into the BWAA Hall of Fame. This award encompasses the BWAA Mort Luby and NWBW Alberta E. Crowe awards.
- Kegel Bowler of the Month Award (see News section)
A special BWAA committee recognizes the nation's best Bowler of the Month. Recipients receive a special photo plaque, sponsored by Kegel.
- BWAA Chuck Pezzano Scholarship (see Scholarships section)
A special BWAA committee selects up to two recipients each year. Scholarships are awarded to a male and/or female high school senior or college undergraduate who has experience as a bowler, and is interested in a career in communications.
