Chris Beard was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to Calif. at the age of 11. Both of her parents were avid bowlers so it was in her blood at birth. She has served on the board of directors for Vallejo WBA, California State WBA and is now serving as President of Carson Country USBC and as Director, Nevada State USBC. In 2000, she was elected to the Vallejo WBA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. In 2003, husband Jim and Chris retired and moved to Gardnerville, Nevada.

Prior to be being elected to the BWAA board, she served the NWBW as secretary for 4 yrs., the last year also serving as the Contest Chairman. While on the California WBA board, she served as Publicity Chairman. Chris is currently the publicity Chairman of the Carson Country USBC.
