Bill Vint is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in journalism. He got his start as a bowling writer when he replaced Steve James as bowling columnist for Rockford (Ill.) Newspapers in 1971.
After a seven-year absence when he worked in the world of snowmobile racing, Vint returned to bowling as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour in 1981. He served in that capacity until 1990 when he left to found Windy City Bowling News with wife Lisa.
In 1991, Vint joined the American Bowling Congress staff as editor of Bowling Magazine and served as editor of ABC/USBC's official publications (Bowling Magazine, ABC's Members Only Issues, American Bowler and US Bowler) until 2007. He currently holds a Communications Special Projects position with USBC, supervising USBC's Hall of Fame and association communications projects.
