NATIONAL WOMEN BOWLING WRITERS APPROVE
PROPOSED BYLAWS FOR NEW ORGANIZATION
During their annual meeting in Orlando April 23, the National Women Bowling Writers unanimously adopted the proposed bylaws – as amended – to create a new writers organization in cooperation with the Bowling Writers Association of America.

Included in NWBW’s actions were:

1) Overwhelming support in favor of having the proposed new organization use the existing BWAA name (that action, of course, would require BWAA’s approval as well).

2) Unanimous support for the new organization’s board to determine where and how the organization would be incorporated (eliminating a previous provision that would have used USBC’s headquarters as the organization’s “legal” address).

3) Unanimous support for the new organization’s board to determine where the Annual Meeting would be held (in a subsequent non-binding vote, NWBW members indicated a preference for USBC as the meeting location)

4) Took action to allow the NWBW board to “dissolve” their organization if BWAA also approves the new organization.

NWBW also elected eight board members who would represent that organization on the board of the proposed new group: Hazel McLeary, Victoria, BC, Canada; Joan Feinblum, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Nancy Chapman, Green Bay, Wis.; Fran Buettner, North Port, Fla.; June Lawhorn, Tulsa, Okla.; Jackie Wyckoff, Cupertino, Calif.; Kathy Watson, Richmond, Calif., and Chris Beard, Gardnerville, Nev.

Twenty-two BWAA members were among the more than 60 writers who attended a special tour of Kegel’s state-of-the-art instruction, research and manufacturing facility in nearby Lake Wales as well as a USBC Hall of Fame/media luncheon, where USBC’s Tom Clark announced winners of the 2005 US Bowler Writing Contest.
