The Bowling Writers Association of America annually rewards a high school or vocational school senior or college student who is pursuing a career in communications and who has been involved in the sport of bowling. Award winners receive a $1,000 scholarship. BWAA may, at its discretion, issue more than one award in a given year.

Qualities which will be considered include academic achievement, civic involvement and some bowling participation. Bowling skill is not a requisite. Eligible candidates must have a minimum of 2.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent.

To apply, first download the application in PDF format (Adobe Reader software required; click here to download). Complete the form and return it to the address at the end of the application postmarked not later than February 28. The application must include at least one reference letter and school transcript. (Do not send separately.) Feel free to attach any information that will support your application.
